Bekkum Family Farms of Westby, Wisconsin is recalling shredded cheese because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. This cheese was processed on the same equipment at Alpine Slicing & Cheese Conversion that prompted a recall of other shredded cheeses on January 2, 2011.

Throw the cheese away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. The product has not tested positive for the bacteria, but the company is recalling it “out of an abundance of caution”.
No illnesses have been reported in conjunction with consumption of this product.
