Canadian Food Inspection Agency Recalls Aunt Jemima Pancakes

Along with the United States recall for several varieties of Aunt Jemima Pancakes, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Pinnacle Foods are recalling three types of the product for undeclared soy, one of the major allergens.

The recall is for Aunt Jemima Frozen Pancakes in cardboard cartons. They were distributed nationally. All of the products have a “Recommended Use By Date” between November 1, 2011 through October 16, 2012. The date is stamped on the end of the carton.

If you are allergic to soy protein, do not eat these pancakes. Return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. If you’re not allergic to soy, this product is safe to eat. This recall does not include boxed pancakes mixes and syrups.

If you have questions, call Pinnacle Foods at 1-888-299-7646 between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm EST, or the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342 between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST, Monday through Friday. The CFIA is monitoring this recall.
