Canidae Dry Dog Food Recalled

Canidae Pet Foods is voluntarily recalling some of its dry dog food because it was manufactured at the Diamond Pet Foods plant in South Carolina. Some food made there has tested positive for Salmonella. These specific products have not tested positive for Salmonella; the company is recalling them “out of an abundance of caution.”

Product details:

  • Canidae Dog, All Life Stages
  • Canidae Dog, Chicken Meal & Rice
  • Canidae Dog, Lamb Meal & Rice
  • Canidae Dog, Platinum
  • Bags must have the number “3” in the 9th position AND an “X” in the 10th or 11th position of the Production Code.
  • Best Before dates of December 9, 2012 through January 31, 2013
  • The food was distributed to these states, although further distribution to other areas is possible:
    • Florida
    • Massachusetts
    • New York
    • North Carolina
    • Pennsylvania
    • South Carolina
    • Tennessee
