CFIA Posts Q&A Regarding Recalled Frozen Beef Products

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has posted a question and answer article regarding the huge frozen beef recall. The food, produced by New Food Classics, a company that declared bankruptcy back in January, may be contaminated with E. coli 0157:H7.

The question and answer document will tell you what to do if you have a product, what the government is doing to make sure the recall is complete, and offers tips for safe handling of raw meat and raw ground beef.

The recall stretches back to February, 2012 and has been updated often, as more and more products were recalled. Eventually, the Canadian government decided to recall all products with the Establishment number 761, which is the number that was assigned to New Food Classics.
