Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice Dog Food Recalled

Diamond Pet Foods is recalling Naturals Lamb Meal and Rice dog food because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

Food Poisoning Bulletin reports on pet food as well as human food because those handling pet foods can contract infections if it is contaminated, and children, especially, are at risk for infection if any bacteria are around the pet’s mouth.

Pets with Salmonella infections exhibit the same symptoms as people infected with that bacteria. Fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting are symptoms of Salmonella poisoning.
