Schoep’s Ice Cream Company of Wisconsin is recalling Kay’s Classic Vanilla Bean Ice Cream because it contains pecans, an allergen, that is not declared on the label. No illnesses have been reported to date. But anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to tree nuts could have serious or life-threatening reactions if they eat it.
The ice cream is sold in 48 ounce round containers. The UPC number is 0-87848-13021 with a Best if Used By Date of 02/28/14. The product was shipped to Food City and Super Dollar stores in Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee.
