Shiitake-Ya Brand Gourmet Mushrooms Recalled for Contamination

L.A. Link (Huntington Beach) Corporation of Cerritos, California is recalling Shiitake-Ya brand Gourmet Shiitake Slices because the mushrooms may be contaminated with carbendazim, fluoranthene, and pyrene.

Carbendazim is the fungicide that was found in imported orange juice that caused a moratorium on imported products. Fluoranthene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon that is classified as a carcinogen. And pyrene is also a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, first isolated from coal tar.
