Wellpet LLC Recalls Dry Dog Food for Possible Salmonella

Wellpet LLC is recalling one recipe of Wellness® dry dog food after Diamond Pet Foods notified the company that there was Salmonella bacteria in Diamond’s Gaston, South Carolina facility.

The company said that all Wellness products are tested for Salmonella and all lots tested negative before shipping, but the company is voluntarily recalling the one product “out of an abundance of caution”.

Product details:

  • Wellness Complete Health® Super5Mix® Large Breed Puppy
  • 15 pound and 30 pound bags and 5 ounce sample bags
  • Best by dates of JAN 9 2013 through JAN 11 2013

No other WellPet recipes, sizes, or brands of food are affected by this recall. WellPet no longer purchases any products from Diamond Pet Foods. For questions, call 1-877-227-9587 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am through 6:00 pm EST and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm EST.
