Whole Foods Market in Florida Recalls Products Made with Gills Onions

Whole Foods Market in Florida is recalling some fresh food items sold in the prepared foods departments in the full service counters and cases, self service hot and cold bars, and prepackaged food sections, as well as one item sold in the seafood department of their seventeen Florida stores. The recalled items were made with Gills Onions products that were recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The items include baby shrimp salad, beet dressing, miso dressing, corned beef sandwiches, vegetable salads, three bean salads, surimi salads, chicken salad rolls, conch salad, and tuna rolls, among others. You can see the entire list of recalled products at the FDA site. The products were prepared and sold between July 7, 2012 and July 27, 2012. The stores include: Biscayne, Boca Raton, Coral Gables, Coral Springs, Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Naples, Palm Beach Gardens, Pembroke Pines, Phillips Crossing, Pinecrest, Plantation, Sarasota, South Beach, Tampa, Wellington and Winter Park.

If you have purchased any of these products, throw them away and go to the place of purchase with the receipt for a refund. If you have questions, call the local store’s customer service department. There have been no reports of illness linked to the consumption of these products.
