Blooming Import Recalls Dried Dates for Undeclared Sulfites

Blooming Import in New York is recalling dried dates because they contain undeclared sulfites. Anyone with a severe sensitivity to sulfites could have a serious reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Golden Lion Brand Dried Ziziphus Jujuba Mill (Dried Dates) in 12 ounce clear plastic bags. The UPC number is 734765040086. The product is imported from China and was sold nationwide. The recall was initiated after New York Department of Agriculture testing revealed the presence of sulfites.

The consumption of 10 mg of sulfites per serving can make asthmatics very sick. If you purchased this product and are allergic to sulfites, return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
