Flat Creek Farm Cheeses Recalled for Salmonella

Flat Creek Farm & Dairy in Swainsboro, Georgia is recalling 90 pounds of Heavenly Blue and 78 pounds of Aztec Cheddar cheeses because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Blue Cheese Listeria RecallBoth cheeses were distributed in Georgia and Florida. Six online orders were also placed; those people are being notified by the company. The product is packed in clear plastic. The cheeses range in size from 1/2 pound packages to whole wheels. The lot code for the Heavenly Blue cheese is 130916XHB. The lot code for the Aztec Cheddar is 130823XAZ.

If you have purchased these products, do not eat them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund. This farm’s cheeses were also recalled in November 2013 for possible Salmonella contamination.
