Hydravax Recalled for Undeclared Diuretic

hydravax_illegal_ingredientIQ Formulations of Sunrise, Fla is recalling of all lots of Hydravax dietary supplement sold in 45-capsule bottles because they contain an unlisted ingredient that is a diuretic. Diuretics are prescription drugs. No illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported to date, but consumers who have purchased this product should not use it.

Possible side effects of using a diuretic include an electrolyte imbalance due to water loss. Symptoms include: frequent urination, nausea, vomiting, weakness, lack of energy, fever, flushed face, and hyperactive deep tendon reflexes. High doses of diuretics may cause dehydration, nausea, vomiting and weakness and possibly hypotension and excessive levels of potassium in the blood.  Anyone who took the supplement and is  experiencing these problems should seek immediate medical attention.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide in retail stores and mail order. The manufacturer has halted production of the product while the source of the potential unlisted ingredient is investigated.
