In Canada, Clic Brand Tahini Recalled for Possible Salmonella

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling Clic brand Tahini and warning the public not to consume it because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. There have been no illnesses reported to date associated with the consumption of this product.

The Clic brand Tahini, or sesame paste, was sold in 454 gram containers. The lot code is LOT # 1432/12 and the UPC number is 0 58504 74097 7. The tahini was distributed nationwide. Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria will not look or smell spoiled, but eating it can cause salmonellosis, a serious illness. For questions and more information, contact the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342.
