In Canada, Tahini Recalled for Possible Salmonella

The Canadian Food Inspection AGency (CFIA) and UNFI Canada are warning the public not to consume Prince brand Tahini products because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products are Prince brand Tahini in 500 gram packages with Expiration date November 19, 2013 and UPC numberĀ 8 14417 01200 2. Also recalled is Prince brand Tahini in 18 kg packages with Expiration date of November 19, 2013 and UPC numberĀ 8 14417 01400 6. The company that imported the product from Israel is Overwaitea Food Group LP. The tahini was distributed in Alberta and British Columbia and was most likely distributed nationally according to the latest update.
