Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Recalled in US

Health Matters America is recalling specific lots of Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate because they contain undeclared milk. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Recall SignThe recalled items were distributed through retail stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia. The recall applies to 3.5 ounce (100 gram) and 8 ounce (227 gram) consumer size bags of Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Hazelnuts with lot numbers 41.12, 17.13, 04.13, and 02.13; UPC number 8 54260 01400 6 for the 3.5 ounce size, and 8 54260 00701 5 for the 8 ounce size.

Also recalled are Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Hazelnuts with Chili with lot numbers 41.12, 02.13, and 16.13. For the 3.5 ounce size, the UPC number is 8 54260 01450 1, and for the 8 ounce size, it is 8 54260 00703 9. Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Almonds is recalled, with lot numbers 39.12, 03.13, and 16.13, with UPC number 8 54260 01500 3 for the 3.5 ounce bag, and for the 8 ounce bag 8 54260 00705 3. Finally, Organic Traditions Dark Chocolate Almonds with Chili is recalled, with lot numbers 40.12 and 16.13, with UPC number 8 54260 01550 8 for the 3.5 ounce size, and 8 54260 00707 7 for the 8 ounce size. The products were also distributed in cartons containing 2 x 12 pounds bulk bags.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency found that the product tested positive for milk and packaging did not state milk was used as an ingredient. If you purchased this product and are allergic to milk, return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
