Penny’s Hummus Recalled for Possible Listeria Contamination

Hagee Foods, doing business as Penny’s Salsa Inc. is recalling many different types of hummus products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with these products.

Pennys-HummusYou can see the long list of recalled products, along with their UPC numbers and use-by dates, at the FDA web site. The brand names include Penny’s, Harbor Greens, and Tacoma Boys. The flavors of recalled hummus include Roasted Red Pepper, Black Bean, Sun-Dried Tomato, Garlic. The hummus was packaged in different sizes, including snack packs and vegetable trays. You can also see pictures of the product labels at the FDA site. The hummus products were distributed to retail stores and food service accounts in Oregon and Washington. Use by dates vary.
