Taylor Farms Recalls Products Made with Reser’s Foods for Listeria

Taylor Farms Tennessee and Taylor Farms Maryland are recalling many broccoli salad kits because they were made with recalled ingredients from Reser’s Fine Foods. The kits may  be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

RecallYou can see the list of products, along with the store where they were sold, the description, best if used by date, and production facility at the FDA web site. The products are Broccoli Crunch Salad Kit, Broccoli Cheddar Salad Kit, Broccoli Crunch Kit, and Broccoli Slaw Kit, all sold at deli counters. They were shipped to stores between October 19, 2013 and October 24, 2013. The products were sold in Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, South Carolina, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Virginia, and Vermont.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Discard them or return to the place of purchase for a refund.

If you ate any of these products, monitor yourself for the symptoms of a Listeria infection for the next two months. It’s unfortunately true that listeriosis can take up to 70 days to develop after you are exposed to the bacteria. The symptoms of a Listeria infection are flu-like, including fever, muscle aches, diarrhea, upset stomach, stiff neck, headache, loss of balance, or confusion.
