Traditions Chicken Meals Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Traditions, of Mississippi, is recalling 2,486 pounds of frozen chicken meals because they contain undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. There have been no reports of adverse reactions associated with the consumption of this product.

Recall SignThe product is “Lemon Pepper Chicken Breast Filet with Rib Meat Smoke Flavor Added/Mixed Vegetables/Basil and Garlic Fettuccine” packed in a three-compartment tray. The product has the establishment number “P-18350” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The meals were produced on October 5, 2012, December 19, 2012, and January 28, 2013. They were distributed to food service institutions nationwide.

The problem was discovered by the firm during a routine label review. Milk is a sub-ingredient of butter flavoring used in the product.
