Brita Recalls Children’s Water Bottles for Laceration Hazard

Brita is recalling children’s water bottles for a possible laceration hazard. The lid can break into pieces with sharp points. The name of the product is Brita hard-sided water filter bottle for kids. Brita has received 35 reports of lids breaking or cracking. No injuries have been reported to date.

Brita Water Bottle RecallThe four recalled children’s water bottles have popular cartoon characters. They include Dora the Explorer® in violet with UPC number 60258-35883, Hello Kitty® in pink with UPC number 60258-35914, SpongeBob SquarePants® in blue with UPC number 60258-35880, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles® in green with UPC number 60258-35882.

The bottles are 6″ tall, hold 15 ounces of liquid, have white lids that screw off and fold-up straws and filters that are inside the straw below the lid. Each bottle has a Brita logo. The removable plastic wrap on the bottle at the time of purchase has the model number BB07 and the UPC numbers.

If you purchased any of these products, stop using them immediately and contact Brita for a postage-paid shipping package to return the bottles for a refund. They were sold at Alaska Housewares, Associated Food Stores, Bartell Drug, C&S Wholesale Grocers, Quidsi, Royal Ahold, Shopko, Target, US Navy Exchange, Walmart Stores, and online at Amazon.com, Drugstore.com and Target.com.
