British Pantry Sausages Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Interbay Food Company of Woodinville, Wash., is recalling approximately 4,820 pounds banger-style pork sausage products because they contain an undeclared allergen, milk. Consumers with a milk allergy should not eat these products.

recalled-bangersThe recalled products include: 1-lb. refrigerated packages (5 links per package)  of  The British Pantry Ltd., British Style Bangers; 1-lb.refrigerated packages 16 links per package of  The British Pantry Ltd., British Style Bangers and 5-lb. Logs of  The British Pantry Ltd., British Style Bangers.

The products were cooked in a Redmond, Wash., restaurant and sold to the general public. The products contain bread crumbs that came from a vendor who listed wheat, soy and milk on the label, but the label for the bangers does not list milk as an ingredient.

The products were produced on March 17, 2014, March 24, 2014, May 5, 2014, June 2, 2014, June 30, 2014, July 15, 2014, July 29, 2014, August 26, 2014 and September 8, 2014. These dates are also products’ package codes. The establishment number  is “Est. 6267”  it appears inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered by a USDA inspector. The company has received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
