Brunkow Cheese Recalls Raw Milk Cheese for Undeclared Soy

Brunkow Cheese of Wisconsin is recalling a cheese spread for undeclared soy, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with a severe sensitivity or allergy to soy could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Fayette Creamery brand Jalapeño Pepper Raw Milk Cheddar Cold Pack Cheese Spread. It is sold in 8 ounce, clear plastic tubs with one of these sell by dates and codes: 05211411, 04051408, 06191415, 06191416, 06191417, 06261411, 06261412, 07071413, 07071414, 08061410, 08121406, 08121407, 08281413, 08281414, 08281415, 08281416, 09201411, 10031410, 10111404, 10171408, 10171409, 10251413, 11011406, 11151409. The product was sold nationwide in retail stores, at farmers markets,  and through direct sales on the premise at Brunkow Cheese.

The problem was caused by an oversight in the company’s labeling process. If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund or discard it.
