California Whole Foods Recalls Chicken Wraps for Undeclared Fish

Whole Foods Market in Northern California is recalling a chicken wrap because it contains anchovies (fish), that is not declared on the label. Anyone with a severe sensitivity or allergy to fish could become seriously ill if they consume this product. No reports of illness or allergic reactions have been received to date.

The recalled product is “Chipotle Chicken Wrap”, sold in the Prepared Foods department on April 2 and April 3, 2014 only. The product in the package is actually filled with a Chicken Caesar Wrap mix, which contains the anchovies. The wraps were packaged in brown card stock wrap sleeves printed with the Whole Foods logo. The UPC number isĀ 046319-97076. The “use by” date is April 6, 2014, and the lot code is 40109104.

The wraps were sold in 38 of the company’s 40 Northern California stores. To see a list of stores, visit the FDA web site. If you purchased this product and are allergic to fish, do not eat it. Return to the place of purchase for a refund.
