Chicken Recalled for Salmonella in Canada

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and 9013-2382 Quebec Inc. are recalling Distribution SI brand chicken products because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The products are distributed to hotels, restaurants, and institutions.

Recall SignageThe recalled products are all Distribution SL brand name. The code on all of the products is 08 DEC 2014. There is no UPC number. The recalled products are BBQ Chicken Breasts Cooked (Vacuum) in 24 x 250 gram sizes; BBQ Chicken Legs Cooked in 30 count size; BBQ Chicken Breasts Cooked in 24 count size; BBQ Chicken Cooked in 6 count size; and 6 BBQ Chickens Cooked in Quarters in 6 count size.

Also recalled are BBQ Chicken Legs Cooked in 30 count size; Whole BBQ Chicken Cooked in 12 count size; BBQ Chicken Legs Cooked in 30 count size, sand 12 BBQ Chickens Cooked in Halves in 12 count size. There is no word on whether or not any illnesses have been reported to date. The products were distributed in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Labrador, and Quebec.
