Chunks of Energy Products Recalled for Salmonella

Chunks of Energy Salmonella RecallNatural Grocers is recalling Chunks of Energy Carob Greens and Chunks of Energy Date/Flax/Turmeric because they contain organic carob powder from Ciranda that may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products are Chunks of Energy Carob Greens with Packed On dates of 155-14, 167-14, and 175-14. Also recalled are Chunks of Energy Date/Flax/Turmeric with Packed On dates of 125-14, 133-14, 147-14, 155-14, 170-14, and 181-14. The Packed On dates are near the bottom of the label on each bag. You can see product labels at the FDA web site.

These products were repackaged by Natural Grocers and sold in small bags in the refrigerated bulk foods section of the stores. The product was distributed to Natural Grocers’s 84 stores in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
