In Canada, Breakfast Wraps Recalled for Possible Listeria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Castle Cheese Inc. are recalling two types of breakfast wraps sold in British Columbia because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

Breakfast Wrap ListeriaThe recalled items are Creekside Market Breakfast Wrap in 250 gram containers. The UPC number isĀ 200732 804994. The code on the product is packed date up to and including 2014AL01 and best before date up to and including 2014AL11. The product was sold from Creekside Market, 305-2071, Lake Placid Road in Whistler, BC. The other recalled item is Belich’s Market Breakfast Wrap. The size and UPC number are not listed. It was sold from March 10 to 28, 2014 at Super Value at 415 Dollarton Highway in North Vancouver, BC.

Do not eat these products if you purchased them. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund. If you ate these products, monitor yourself for the signs of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women infected with the Listeria monocytogenes bacteria can suffer miscarriage and stillbirth, even though they only have mild, flu-like symptoms.
