In Canada, Cookies and Biscuits Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Vegetarian Delite Bakery are recalling many different types of biscuits and cookies because they contain undeclared milk, soy, sulphites, and wheat. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to any of those ingredients could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume these products. No reported illnesses or reactions have been received to date.

Sooji Biscuit RecallYou can see the long list of recalled products, along with the package size, product codes, and UPC numbers at the CFIA web site. You can also see pictures of the recalled products at that site. The recalled products are all under the Vegetarian elite brand name. Products recalled include Atta Biscuit, Sooji Biscuit, Ajwain Biscuit, Coconut Cookie, Jeera Biscuit, Flax Seed Cokies, Ginger Snaps, and Nankhatai. The products were sold at the retail level in Alberta and British Columbia.

If you are allergic to milk, soy, sulphites, and/or wheat, do not eat these products. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
