In Canada, Dole Salad Recalled for Possible Listeria

In Canada, Dole Fresh Vegetables Inc. is recalling Dole brand Italian Blend salad from the marketplace because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The product was distributed in New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec, and may have been distributed nationally. No illnesses have been reported to date in association with the consumption of this product.

Dole Italian Blend Recall ListeriaThe recalled product is Dole Italian Blend salad in 10 ounce (283 gram) packages. The UPC number isĀ 0 71430 00819 5 and the best before date is 14-MR-12. The recall was triggered by CFIA test results.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard it in a sealed container or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

If you ate this product, you must monitor yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days, since that’s how long it can take for symptoms to appear. Those symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women may have only mild, flu-like symptoms, but listeriosis can cause premature delivery, infection of the newborn, stillbirth, and miscarriage.
