In Canada, Heinz Infant Food Recalled for Packaging Defects

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Heinz Canada is recalling some types of Heinz infant food because the packaging is defective and may allow the entry of spoilage microorganisms. The health risk is considered “very low to remote”, but infants are very susceptible to food poisoning.

The recalled products are all the 128 mL size. They include Peas zucchini spinach with UPC number 0 57000 03423 8, Sweet baby vegetables with UPC number 0 57000 03424 5, Beef bolognese with vegetables with UPC number 0 57000 03420 7, Beef butternut squash rice spinach with UPC number 0 57000 03421 4, Tuna sweet corn chowder with UPC number 0 57000 03422 1, and Butternut squash apricot peas couscous with UPC number 0 57000 03425 2. If you have these products in your home, do not feed them to your child or consume them yourself. Return to the place of purchase for a refund. The recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. There have been no reported illnesses to date.
