In Canada, Paprika Recalled for Possible Salmonella

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Winners Merchants International are recalling Ecoato brand Sweet Paprika Powder from the market because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. This product was recalled in the United States earlier this week. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of this product.

Ecoato Sweet Paprika Salmonella RecallThe Ecoato Sweet Paprika Powder is sold in 160 gram containers. The Lot number is 8147, and code on the product is October 2015. This recall was triggered by a recall in the United States. The product is imported from Spain.

Food contaminated with Salmonella bacteria will not look, smell, or taste spoiled. Symptoms of a Salmonella infection include vomiting, fever, headache, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems and chronic illnesses are more likely to be seriously ill with a Salmonella infection.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a closed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
