Italian Style Wedding Soup Recalled for Undeclared Egg and Soy

Recall NoticesGiant Eagle Market District Italian Style Wedding Soup is being recalled for undeclared allergens egg and soy. Consumers with these allergies should not eat this product as they risk serious reactions if they do. No adverse reactions had been reported at the time of the recall.

The recalled product was  made by Fresh Food Manufacturing in Freedom, Pa. on Oct. 9, 2014 and sold in 24-oz. cups in retail stores in Maryland, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The establishment number “EST. 40211” appears inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem arose form a labeling mishap. The recalled product bears the ingredients list of a chili product that the company also produces at the facility. The chili label does not list soy and egg, which are ingredients in the Italian Style Wedding Soup.
