Kind Bars Recalled for Undeclared Peanuts

KIND Bars Recall for PeanutsKind Health Snacks is recalling two types of their KIND bars after learning that the supplier roasted pumpkin seeds using equipment that had been used to roast peanuts. KIND has strict quality specifications that forbid that, since some with peanut allergies are very sensitive.

In fact, some people with peanut allergies are so sensitive that the presence of peanut molecules can cause a serious reaction. No allergic reactions or adverse effects have been reported to date.

The recalled products are five flavors of STRONG & KIND bars: Roasted Jalapeño, Honey Smoked BBQ, Thai Sweet Chili, Honey Mustard, and Hickory Smoked. In addition, KIND Healthy Grains Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt bars are recalled. You can see pictures of the recalled products at the FDA web site.

Only certain lot codes were affected, but the company is recalling all of the supply of those six products in the marketplace out of an abundance of caution. If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund or discard them.
