Margaret Holmes Greens Recalled for Questionable Seals

McCall Farms Incorporated is recalling canned Margaret Holmes Turnip Greens and Mixed Greens because of questionable seals. The product was distributed to retailers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.

The recalled products are Margaret Holmes Turnip Greens in 14.5 ounce cans with UPC number 41443 10251, and Margaret Holmes Mixed Greens in 14.5 ounce cans with UPC number 41443 11271. The products were packaged on the same day and have a five digit production lot code of F13EX on the top of the can.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Dispose of the products; do not return to the store. Contact McCall Farms for a replacement or full refund.

  1. What happens if you have eaten some turnip greens before knowing about this. I ate some for dinner tonight and have thrown the can away before I knew about this. Do not know what the number was on the can.

      Just monitor yourself for any symptoms of food poisoning, especially botulism, which is a concern in low acid canned foods. They include double vision, blurred vision, dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, and muscle weakness. If you do experience those symptoms, get to a doctor immediately.
