Mr Wok Pork Nuggets Recalled for Undeclared Wheat

Mr. Wok Foods of Las Vegas is recalling approximately 14,760 pounds of raw pork nugget product because it contains an undeclared allergen, wheat. People who have a wheat allergy, celiac disease or a gluten intolerance should not eat this product as they run the risk of severe reaction of they do.

Recall SignThe recalled product includes 10 lb. cases of “Battered, Deep Fried Pork Nugget” with packaging dates from JAN 25 2014 through JUN 25 2014 and “EST. 20783” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the labels. The raw pork nuggets were produced on various dates between January 25, 2014 and June 25, 2014 and distributed for use in hotels, restaurants and other commercial establishments in Las Vegas.

The problem was discovered by U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service employees (USDA FSIS) during a food safety assessment. It was due to a change in flour supplier.

There have been no reports of illness or adverse reactions associated with these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
