Natural Grocers Recalls Peppercorns for Possible Salmonella

Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets of Colorado is recalling multiple lots of Natural Grocers brand Organic Black Peppercorns as it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Several other recalls of black peppercorns are underway at this time. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Natural Grocers Peppercorns Salmonella RecallThe recalled product is Natural Grocers brand Organic Black Peppercorns, provided by Frontier Natural Products Co-op. The recalled product is packed in clear plastic bags with the Natural Grocers label. The Julian packed-on dates are: 28-14, 13-14, 351-13, 336-13, 322-13, 305-13, 290-13, 281-13, 266-13, 252-13, 245-13. The peppercorns were distributed to Natural Grocers’ 80 stores in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

If you purchased these peppercorns, do not eat them. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
