Rancho Recall of Beef Products for No Inspection Expands

Beef-CarcassThe recall of beef products from Rancho Feeding Corporation for lack of inspection has expanded. In addition to the products previously recalled, the company has added 420 pounds of 30 pound boxes of “Book Tripe” to the recall. Earlier this week, about 41,683 pounds of meat products were recalled because they were not inspected by the USDA.

All products have the establishment number “EST. 527” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each box has the case code number “ON9O4”. The products were made on January 8, 2014, and shipped to distribution centers and retail establishments in California. The problem was discovered as a result of an ongoing investigation. FSIS thinks the company made product without full ante-morten inspection as required by federal regulations. No reports of illness have been received to date in connection with the consumption of these products.
