Retail List of Jensen Cheese Recalled for Listeria

The retail list for places in Ontario, Canada that sold Jensen Cheese brand Old Cheddar Cheese (white) that has been recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination has been posted by the CFIA. The original recall was posted on February 7, 2014.

Jensen Cheese ListeriaIf you purchased this cheese, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund. If you ate this cheese, monitor yourself for the symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes food poisoning for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include flu-like symptoms, fever, headache, neck stiffness, nausea, and vomiting. If you do become ill, see your doctor and mention that you ate this recalled product.

The cheese was sold at Cousin’s Market on Hurontario Street in Mississuaga, Marilu’s Market on New Street in Burlington, Pusateri’s Fine Foods on Bayview Avenue and Yorkville Avenue in Toronto, Valeriote’s Market on Yorkshire Road N in Guelph, Fiesta Farms on Christie Street in Toronto, Harvest Wagon on Yonge Street in Toronto, and at Locke Streets Meats & Deli on Locke Street S in Hamilton. The cheese was also sold at Market Fresh on Paisley Street in Guelph, Picone Fine Food on King Street W in Dundas, The Mustard Seed on York Blvd. in Hamilton, and Whole Foods Market on Avenue Road in Yorkville. All products were sold from January to February 7, 2014. Check with the CFIA web site to find exact sales dates and location addresses.

Some of the packages may not have a code or the Jensen Cheese brand name. Some may have been sold from clerks at deli counters without a label or coding. If you bought white cheddar cheese from those stores, check with the retailer to see if you purchased the recalled product.
