Rice Cakes with Dark Chocolate Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Kupiec Rice Cakes with Dark Chocolate are being recalled for undeclared milk. People with allergies or sensitivities should not eat this product as they could have a severe or life-threatening reaction if they do. One illness has been reported.

The rice cakes were made by Markpol Distributors Inc. of Wood Dale, Illinois and shipped and distributed to retail stores in Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut between August 29th, 2014 and September 30th, 2014.

The recalled Kupiec Rice Cakes with Dark Chocolate have the UPC 5 906747 171742 and were sold in 3.1 oz. packages in white foil with a photo image of the rice cake on the front of the packaging.  The production date,  on the back of the package is 29.05.2014, the expiration date is  29.05.2015. And the lot numbers are 149/MA/3 and 149/JP/3.

Markpol Distributors issued the recall when the mis-labeling issue was discovered through the reported consumer illness on October 1st, 2014 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). rice-cake-recall
