Rye Breads Recalled in Canada for Undeclared Milk

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Rudolph’s Bakeries are recalling rye breads because they contain milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy to milk could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat these products. There is no word on whether any reactions have been reported to date.

RecallThe recalled breads are all Rudolph’s brand. All codes where milk is not declared on the label are recalled. The products are Bayerische Brotzeit Bavarian Rye Bread in 907 gram packages. The UPC number is 0 57894 00922. Also recalled is Bavarian Rye Bread in 500 gram packages with a UPC number of 0 57894 00912 1. Finally, Rudolph’s Rye-Lite Rye Bread Very Lite in 680 gram packages is recalled, with a UPC number of 0 57894 00152 1. They were sold in Ontario.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to milk, do not eat them. Discard or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
