Stawnichy’s Beef Jerky Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Stawnichy’s Meat Processing in Canada is recalling various beef jerky products because they contain wheat, mustard, soy, and sulphites that are not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to those ingredients could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled products don’t have UPC numbers. All best before dates where wheat, soy, and mustard do not appear on the label are recalled. They include Beef Jerky – Regular in variable sizes, Beef Jerky – Country Style, Beef Jerky – Teriyaki, Beef Jerky – Hot & Sweet, Beef Jerky – Garlic, Steak Strips – Regular, Steak Strips – Teriyaki, Steak Strips – Hot & Sweet, and Steak Strips – Mundare Steak Spice. They were sold in Alberta, Canada. The first two recalled products were also sold in bulk or were repacked at the retail level. If you are not sure if you purchased these products, ask your retailer.

If you purchased any of these products and are allergic to wheat, mustard, or soy or have a sensitivity to sulphites, do not eat them. Return them to the place of purchase or discard. You can see pictures of photo labels at the CFIA web site.
