Sugar Lake Farms Chicken Tenders Recalled for Egg and Wheat

Prime Pak Foods of Georgia is recalling about 24,000 pounds of fully cooked breaded chicken breast products for misbranding and undeclared allergens. The products were made with egg and wheat, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label.

The recalled products are 2, 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of “Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders”. The product code is 77422. Also recalled are 2, 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of “Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Spicy Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks” with a produce code of 77448. The products were made from December 12, 2012 to March 21, 2014. They have the establishment number “P-9165” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were distributed to hotels, restaurants, and institutions nationwide.

The problem was discovered by an FSIS inspector who notified the company on April 17, 2014. There have been no reports of allergic reactions associated with the consumption of these products to date.
