H-E-B Recalls Single Serving Soups for Undeclared Peanuts

H-E-B is recalling some single serving soups for undeclared peanuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Recall SignageThe recall is for H-E-B Single Serving Tortilla soup prepackaged in 8 ounce and 16 ounce sizes, purchased on or before 1/6/2015. Also recalled is H-E-B Single Serving Poblano Corn Chowder prepackaged in 8 ounce and 16 ounce sizes, purchased on or before 1/6/2015. Finally, all H-E-B Tortilla Soup and H-E-B Poblano Corn Chowder soup purchased from the hot soup kettle at the Deli/Prepared Foods Counter purchased on or before 1/6/2015 are recalled.

H-E-B’s vendor, Southern Style Spices, notified the company that one of the spice blend ingredient components used in its products tested positive for peanut residue. If you are allergic to peanuts and purchased these products, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
