La Flor Recalls Ground Cumin for Undeclared Peanuts

La Flor Products is recalling “La Flor-Ground Cumin” because it may contain traces of peanuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Those with an allergy to peanuts could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled products were distributed in the Tri-State New York area to supermarket chains, independent supermarkets, and mass merchandisers. The Ground Cumin was sold in three different packages. First, a clear 2-ounce square glass jar with UPC number 077636014503 and lot number RLF 800. The expiration dates are 5/13/18 or 7/14/18. Second, clear 6 ounce round plastic jars with UPC number 077636014602 and lot number RLF 800 are recalled, with expiration date 5/14/18 stamped on the side. And third, clear 5 pound large plastic jar with a handle, and UPC number 077636514409 are recalled. The lot number is RLF 800 and expiration date 6/16/18.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund. You can see pictures of product labels at the FDA site.
