Texas Pecan Company Recalls Macadamia Nuts for Salmonella

Texas Pecan Company is recalling macadamia nuts and products containing macadamia nuts because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of these products.

Texas Pecan Company Macadamia Salmonella RecallThe recalled items all have pack dates of 14320 through 14365. They include Macadamia, Raw Whole in 16 ounce packages with UPC 031, Macadamia, Raw Whole in 8 ounce packages, with UPC 032, Macadamia, Whole Roasted and Salted in 16 ounce packages with UPC 033, and Macadamia Whole, Roasted and Salted in 8 ounce packages with UPC 034.

Also recalled are Macadamia Nuts and Gift Tins. The Executive Gift Tin is one section of a 5 pound tin with UPC 321-54; the Junior Executive Tin is one section of a 3 pound tin, with UPC 320-34; the Sweet-N-Salty Tin is one section of a 5 pound tin with UPC 337-56; and the Mini Sweet-N-Salty Tin is one section of a 2 pound tin, with UPC 14320 through 14365.

The nuts and gift tins were sold nationwide in the Texas Pecan Company retail stores and through mail order. They were sold in the months of November and December 2014. You can see product labels at the FDA web site.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
