Wegmans Walnuts Recalled for Salmonella

First Source is recalling Wegmans Organic Walnut Halves & Pieces because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product.

Wegmans Walnuts Salmonella RecallThe 3,276 tubs of walnuts were sold in Wegmans’ 85 stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts, between January 27, 2015 and March 17, 2015. The recalled product is Wegmans Organic Food You Feel Good About Walnut Halves & Pieces, NET WT 6 ounces, packed in clear plastic tubs. The best before date of 1/27/16 is on the bottom label. The UPC number is 077890358009.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a sealed container so other people or animals can’t eat it, then wash your hands well. You can also return the walnuts to the place of purchase for a refund. Wegmans will place automated phone calls to customers who purchased the walnuts using the Shoppers Club card.
