Albertsons Recalls Ground Beef for Possible E. coli Contamination

Supervalu-owned Albertsons stores are recalling multiple ground beef items from all stores in Washington and Oregon and three stores in Northern Idaho: Coeur D’Alene, Haden and Lewiston. Their supplier, Interstate Meat Distributors, told Albertsons that these products are part of the XL Foods recall in Canada for E. coli 0157:H7.

Recall SignageThese products were sold from Albertsons’ full service counters at customer request or sold pre-packaged from 9/3/12 to 9/21/12. All raw ground beef products from full service counters are recalled. In addition, these pre-packaged products are recalled: Fresh Ground Beef Patties 80/20, 1 LB, with UPC number 7-52907-60030 and Use by Date of 9/11/2; Fresh Ground Beef Chub 73/27, 1 LB, with UPC number 7-52907-18271 and Use by Dates of 9/18/12 or 9/21/12; and Fresh Ground Beef Chub 72/27, 3 LB, with UPC number 7-52907-18251 and Use by Dates of 9/18/12 or 9/21/12.

If you have purchased these items, return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Be sure to check your home freezer.
