Catania Brand Mangoes Recalled for Salmonella Braenderup

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and M.L. Catania Co. Ltd. are recalling Daniella brand mangoes packed with the Catania label because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Braenderup. This is part of the recall of Daniella mangoes in Canada and the United States, which is linked to a Salmonella Braenderup outbreak in both countries that has sickened at least 127 people.

The affected product is Daniella brand mangoes packed by M.L. Catania Co. Ltd. The mangoes were sold in a 6-pack plastic clamshell with UPC number 0 61968 61603 0 and a Pack date from 12 JL 19 to 12 AU 21. The product was repacked using Daniella brand mangoes implicated in other recalls. The original Daniella brand sticker may or may not be present on each individual mango.

These mangoes have been distributed in Newfoundland and Ontario. They may have been distributed in other provinces. For more information and questions, call the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342.
