Del Monte Recalls Mango Products for Possible Salmonella

Del Monte Fresh Produce is recalling some fresh-cut fruit packages made with mangoes because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. There is a nationwide outbreak of Salmonella Braenderup linked to Daniella mangoes imported from Mexico that has sickened at least 121 people in 15 states. The long list of recalled products, along with the UPC number, pack size, brand, best by dates, and states where they were for sale can be found at the FDA site.

Food RecallThe products include Del Monte bowls and 7 Eleven Fresh to Go fruit cups. They were sold in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Most of the best buy dates were for the end of September, 2012. Look carefully at the long list of recalled products. If you have purchased any, do not eat them. Discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
