In Canada, Champ’s Mushrooms Recalled for Possible Listeria

The recalled product is Champ’s Mushrooms brand Sliced Crimini Mushrooms in three sizes. The 200 gram size has UPC number 6 78286 99933 4 and code 260 S4189. The 227 gram size has UPC number 6 78286 88877 5 and codes PO 15SEP2012 or PO 16 SEP2012. And the 454 gram size has UPC number 6 78286 88881 2 and code PO 15SEP2012. There have not been any reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. Crimini mushrooms look like button mushrooms, but they are a darker brown color. They’re also known as Italian brown mushrooms.

The manufacturer, Champ’s Mushrooms of British Columbia, is voluntarily recalling these products from the marketplace. For questions and more information, call the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342.
