Meijer Brand Grilling Trays Recalled for Possible Listeria Contamination

Pure Hothouse Foods Inc. is recalling 1402 cases and 8,412 individual units of fresh cut grilling trays because they contain mushrooms that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The products were produced and distributed from Leamington, Ontario, Canada to retailers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky.

These are the recalled products. Meijer Brand “Grillers Mushroom with Rosemary” with UPC coded 7-08820-85464-2 and Use by Dates of August 11th – August 26, 2012. Meijer Brand “Grillers Steak Topper” with UPC number 7-08820-85468-0 and Use by Dates of August 11th – August 26, 2012. Meijer Brand “Grillers Asparagus Blend” with UPC number 7-08820-85353-9 and Use by Dates of August 11 – August 26, 2012.

Symptoms of listeriosis, the illness caused by Listeria monocytogenes, include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. The illness primarily affects pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems.
