Price Chopper Supermarket Recalls Stuffed Clams

Price Chopper Supermarket is issuing a voluntary recall on “Gourmet Stuffed Clams” from its seafood departments because of undeclared allergens. The product contains milk, wheat, and eggs that are not listed on the ingredient label. The clams are safe to eat as long as you’re not allergic to those ingredients.

  • Sold chain-wide in Price Chopper seafood departments
  • Product sold between September 30, 2011 and December 30, 2011

The label was updated on December 30, 2011 to identify all of the ingredients used in the product. Price Chopper has triggered its “Smart Reply” notification program, which uses purchase data on file, the company’s loyalty card, and customer phone numbers to alert people who have may purchased the product.
